Since 1995, Drs. Bill and Kathleen O'Shea have been specializing in bringing eye care to a special group of people who desperately need it, but are unfortunately often overlooked - the residents of nursing homes and long term health care facilities.

The Problem...

It is a fact that a large percentage of the elderly have some form of visual impairment.

Studies indicate that 94% of people over age 65 have some form of refractive error and the prevalence of eye disease in seniors can be as high as 85%.

Nursing home residents can be especially susceptible, with up to 30% having severe visual impairment.

Unfortunately, however, due to infirmity or to the high costs of transportation, these patients often have a difficult time obtaining necessary eye care services. One recent study estimates that only 11% of nursing home residents have had an eye exam within the past two years.

Solutions for Sight Optometric Associates is a professional service corporation founded in 1995 by Dr. Kathleen M. O'Shea and Dr. William F. O'Shea.
